Vision Therapy

When glassesalone are not enough.

Vision therapy is a structured program designed to improve how the eyes work together and how visual information is processed. It is personalised based on examination findings and monitored over time so progress can be measured and adjusted as needed.

Because this is a meaningful specialty service, it is featured clearly on our site — not buried in a long services list. Dr. Katie Johnson leads all vision therapy programs at Vallejo.

Conditions we treat
  • Convergence Insufficiency
Difficulty turning the eyes inward for near tasks. Causes eye strain, headaches, and blurred vision when reading.
  • Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)
Reduced vision in one eye due to abnormal visual development. Most effective when treated early in childhood.
  • Strabismus (Eye Turn)
Misalignment of the eyes. Treatable with Vision Therapy — sometimes alongside surgery, sometimes as an alternative.
  • Visual Processing Disorders
Difficulty interpreting what the eyes see — often linked to reading difficulties and learning challenges in school.
  • Reading & Learning Difficulties
Vision problems that mimic or worsen dyslexia and attention issues. Treated with targeted therapy programs.
