Comprehensive Eye Exams

A thorough eye exam goes far beyond checking your prescription. We evaluate your visual acuity, eye health, and screen for early signs of serious conditions — many of which show no symptoms until significant damage has occurred.

What's included

Everything this visit covers.

Visual acuity testing (distance and near)

Refraction and prescription update

Binocular vision and eye teaming assessment

Intraocular pressure screening for glaucoma

Retinal health evaluation with Optomap or Eidon

Screening for cataracts, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy

Good to know

Understanding your care.

Beyond a vision screening

A quick vision screening only tells you whether you can read letters across a room. It says nothing about the health of the eye itself — and most early eye disease has no symptoms. A complete exam looks for changes before they affect how you see.

Your whole health, not just your vision

Dr. Nguyen reviews your overall health and family history, the medications you take, and risk factors like blood pressure, diabetes, and sun exposure. These details shape what we look for during the exam and how often we recommend follow-up.

Recommended frequency

The American Optometric Association suggests a complete exam every two years for adults ages 18 to 60 with no known concerns, and every year after age 61 — or more often if you have a condition that benefits from closer monitoring.
